Matthew Griffin

Assistant Director Matt was born, raised and lives on Cape Cod. He received his B.A. from the University of Maine – Orono and spent the past ten years traveling extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. In between, he’s worked as a mechanic, limo driver, and shellfisherman. Matt has taught English at his local high school and to Czechs in Prague. After a half-year holiday in Scotland researching his maternal lineage and writing, he’s moved his sights to documentary filmmaker. Both on-camera and off, Matt always adds color to our assessment of history.

Alex Schwantner

Director of Photography & Editor From age 14, Alex focused on breaking into the film industry. Graduating from Full Sail University’s film program, he began working as an independent producer while freelancing as a videographer and an editor. Brought on as editor for the HRH pilot, Alex introduced the conversational element for Buckley and the crew. What started off as a way to plug gaps in the narrative became our trademark approach – “the cast IS the crew.” During the 2nd episode, Alex shot, edited and uploaded the visit to a dengue fever-stricken hospital while still on location in Cape Verde.

Jul3ia Richard

J3Video & Editing In May 2009, Jul3ia won an Emmy for her video Reality TV, a look at reality television and its “many unfortunate side effects”. She directed, produced, wrote, edited and starred in the five-minute video. In 2010, she followed up with a second Emmy for OMG LOL. Jul3ia has been involved in television and audio/visual production since childhood. Her creative focus lies mainly on graphic arts, audio engineering, animation, and special effects, inspired by such artists as Mike Jittlov, Walt Disney, M.C.
